At this luncheon we will present the program ”Oscillators”, hosted by Mike Baraniak with Tomax. Moving the string or agitating the string to reduce string friction and both releasing and transmitting trapped drill string torque resulting in better weight transfer, especially for (ERD) extended reach laterals as they continue to get longer and longer in length can possibly assist and can lead to better drilling efficiency with less stress on the string and wear on the casing.

 

In today’s market more and more companies are investing capital to become innovators in this technology even though it has been established for many years.

However, for us all to obtain a more knowledge of how these tools can function and can benefit the directional drilling market with the necessary modeling required for better placement and changes in designs WE need to have a better understanding of the time savings and the economic value that this technology can bring to the table.
