As on-shore and off-shores wells are reaching record depth and lengths, BHA optimization and drilling simulations are rapidly taking a growing role in well design these past years. As the industry is looking towards real-time drilling simulators and drilling
automation, simulation software had to step up their game and tackle complex problems and trying to process the massive quantity of data collected on the rig to predict the best course to take to drill the perfect well.
Although drilling software have been on the market for decades, their use and integration have become a primary focus among operators and the expectation from these applications requested by the drilling engineering team have never been as challenging as
they are today.
Although the laws of physics are universal, their interpretation and integration in a mathematical model have been a controversial subject and led to a growing number of companies claiming they have the best methodology for drilling engineering software
which makes it even more difficult for drilling engineers to select the right solution for their needs.
On Jan. 24th, 2019 the IADD is happy to invite several key players in the drilling simulation and engineering market to present their technology and explain how they approach those complex tasks of modeling the wells and equipment to improve
drilling performances to optimize production in this tumultuous oil market.

Donations Requested
Over the years, the IADD has partnered with Operation Military Embrace, Inc., (OME)—a Texas-based tax-exempt/non-profit 501(c)(3) military support organization that’s helps America’s seriously injured and ill Warriors and their families in their time of need—through the donation
of cash and household items (toys, kitchen items, linens, etc.).
This year, we’d like to invite attendees to our Houston chapter luncheons to bring items (clothes, gift cards, food items, etc.), which will then be given to wounded service members at Camp Hope (Houston campus for the PTSD Foundation), as well as other private and VA
facilities throughout the year.
