The IADD Houston chapter continued its exciting program with an extended luncheon on Oct. 25th at Landry’s. Presenters from Double
Barrel, D-Tech, Gyrodata, Halliburton, NOV, Scientific, Terra Vici, and Scout Downhole shared their respective Rotary Steerable technology and presented key performance achievements made in North America. The event was hosted by Anders Storaune from SWN who is also on the Houston IADD Board. Anders worked diligently to make this luncheon another success. We had almost 100 attendees that consisted of operators, service companies, equipment manufacturers, and several students from U of H,
A&M, and Texas Tech.
In November, the Houston Chapter team took its traditional break, but they still actively participated in the Mud Motor Workshop hosted by IADD International at the Greenspoint Hilton where we discussed new developments in motor technology, its applications, and established a direction for future demands for this drilling tool in order to maintain compatibility with the increasing complexity of well designs and increase in horizontal sections.
The Houston Chapter of IADD will hit the ground running in 2019 with our Clay Shoot at the Blackwood Gun Club in Conroe on Jan. 18th. During the day we will be raffling off several guns and will have many door prizes. Breakfast will be provided by Ulterra and for Integrity is going to be sharing their award winning BBQ for lunch. There are still spots available. Please check out our website at: www.iadd-intl.org/
Our first luncheon of the new year will be on January 24th. The focus of this luncheon will be BHA modeling software solutions. On February 28th, we will be hosting Richard Spears, from Spears & Associates, as he provides us with an update on the state of our industry. More exciting events are already on our list so please stay tuned to capitalize on opportunities to share your knowledge, network with like-minded individuals, and to learn new
information about our ever-changing industry.
I would like to thank all of our sponsors, members, the IADD staff, presenters and their respective organizations, and everybody else who has helped contribute to a successful 2018. We couldn’t have done it without you. We are looking forward to a successful 2019.
Sincerely,
Roland Illerhaus
