Letter From the Executive Director

“Can we talk?“ The famous comedic line was the precursor to getting a cup of coffee and sitting down to discuss some important news. But this is an important question for our industry. This may be the single biggest impediment to us achieving our goals. This is a recurring theme at our events – the desire for better communication. I have a unique perspective in this in that I hear from all sides. From my vantage point I see so many areas for improvement if we could only communicate a little better.

As the year draws to an end, we have an opportunity to reflect on the past accomplishments as well as look to the future. I want to reiterate the points that I made a few months ago about the core tenants of IADD, especially in the light of what we are talking about - Communication:

Networking – This helps to facilitate good communication. It is good to get out of our normal routine and meet friends and colleagues.

Information – You come to our events to find out what is going on in the industry. We also want to continue to expand our website so that it too will be a go-to source of information. Another means of communication.

Training – We have a few training courses available but are looking to expand this. We have to be able to convey lessons learned from the past as well as the latest and greatest.

Standards – Our industry is notoriously lax when it comes to a consistent approach to some technical issues. We have had several calls for our organization to take the lead in addressing these areas.

We already have a full slate of events scheduled for 2019, but we will be looking to augment those with strategic additional sessions to facilitate the dialogue that we need. It won’t happen overnight, but with your help and participation we can all play a role in continually improving this industry.

Once again, I would like to thank the myriad of volunteers that make this organization go. We couldn’t do it with out you.

Featured Event - Annual Sporting Clay Shoot Tournament

We welcome you to join us as we continue with our traditional full 10 course Clay Shoot competition. There will be great prizes & door prizes. We will have our TTS Sporting Clays event this year on December 7, 2018 at the Blackwood Gun Club in Conroe. This IADD tournament promotes friendly competition, fellowship, and the clay skills of our participants. So, whether you are experienced or have never shot at all, come out and give it a try!

Lunch will be provided. Refreshments available throughout the day.

Annual Technology Forum featuring Mud Motors Recap

The IADD Annual Technology Forum, featuring Mud Motors, was a great platform for operators, manufacturers and service companies to discuss the current and future state of mud motor technology and applications. Anadarko Petroleum said Thursday it will sell its remaining pipeline assets for $4 billion to its decade-old pipeline spinoff Western Gas Partners.
